Review:
It seems Refusal are slowly starting to catch up on this "albums thing"; after the first 8 years of activity with only demos on their name (which is not a bad thing, don't get me wrong, it actually shows how humble they are), 2016 sees the release of their debut full-length We Rot Within, and exactly 3 years after here they offer their second opus, a 9 tracks (all made of only one words, which I find a good idea worth mentioning) effort clocking only a bit over half an hour of playing time. The new material could be described as mid-tempo to fast paced Death Grind made of crunchy, crusty and catchy guitar riffs, upfront, metallic bass lines, groovy at times, incessant and pounding at others drumming and double vocals: angry and throaty mean vocals supported by screaming vocals, both types comprehensive so one can easily follow the lyrics line; think of Nasum meets Bolt Thrower with a crusty edge and you pretty much got the idea. I think they are amazing live, at least these tracks are clearly designed to make the masses move. Good album, groovy, meaty, succulent and brutal at the same time, sounds like the best hamburger you've ever had, isn't it? Try it out!
