Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Sigil was started about two years ago. I was relatively new to Texas, but had a buddy down here I played music with in my native northeast. I had previously written material and that’s what we started out with. I went through about 3 full line-up changes due to personal lives getting in the way before I found the line up for “Kingdom of the Grave”. We got the record recorded and now here we are!

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Old school death metal would be the best moniker for our sound. We draw from Swedish death like Entombed, Dismember, Entrails and American crust like His Hero is Gone, Traged and From Ashes Rise

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because a true metal head wants true shit. We stick to our old school guns. We don't reinvent the wheel, but we set it on fire and send it flaming down the road.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
“Kingdom of the Grave” is our first official release and full length! The reviews have been overwhelmingly positive and we couldn't be happier.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We play live once every few months locally. We try not to over saturate our demand. We do have tours and out of town shows in support of the record in the works.

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Austin's metal scene is kind of burgeoning at the moment and we're stoked to be a part of it. We share members of some of the other bands that make our scene very strong. And it’s like being a part of a really awesome giant and incestuous family. It's good to see that the shitty phase of stoner, bellbottom, dad rock is on the outs.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We plan to get writing on release #2 as soon as possible and working out our first tour in support of the record.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
The best place to do so is at our bandcamp https://sigildeath.bandcamp.com/
